Best Sports Bras For Large Breasts

by Rosie Thompson on January 8, 2012

If you’re well endowed in the breast area you’ll be well aware of the difficulty associated with exercise.  Buying a good sports bra can make all the difference to your experience of exercise.

Some things to look out for when trying to find the best sports bra for large breasts are:

  • There shouldn’t be much stretch (if it pulls on over your head, there’s too much stretch).
  • Front or back fastening is best.
  • Don’t go for style and appearance over comfort.
  • Full coverage is better.
  • Breast separation is important to reduce chaffing caused by sweating and movement.
Above all, try on before buying and check out the returns policy if ordering online.  It might be worth ordering a few to make sure you get the best fit.

You need to be prepared to spend a bit more for quality too but it’ worth it!  Here’s a great example of a fully supportive sports bra really worth investing in.

Two Great Bras From Elomi

by Rosie Thompson on January 6, 2012

There’s no doubt that it has been notoriously difficult to find really good looking full figure bras that are also comfortable and supportiveElomi lace full cup brato wear.  Or at least this used to be the case until recent times.  The choice of great full figure bras is now huge and they not only look great, but offer suitable breast support too.

There’s no point in buying a bra that you love the look of if it isn’t comfortable.  Now you can have both.  Take a look at this gorgeous lace bra available up to size 46G from Elomi.  It has lacy elegance combined with wide enough shoulder and back straps to make you feel sensual and supported at the same time.  The fawn color is also very flattering and, being flesh toned, will not show under lighter clothing.  It’s also available in white which looks great in lace.  Why not treat yourself to the matching pants.

Elomi black plunge braThis moulded underwire plunge bra, also by Elomi is another great example of a bra that ticks all the boxes of looking fantastic and providing the essential breast support and protection needed for fuller figures.  The moulded, plunge element of this bra also helps accentuate the cleavage and breast shape and there’s a choice of black or nude to choose from in up to size 48G.  After all, us fuller figured ladies should show off what we have too!

Big Bras Can Be Sexy Too!

by Rosie Thompson on January 6, 2012

Big women used to accept that they had to wear unattractive bras and make a good job of hiding them but things are changing and it’s about time.  Why shouldn’t us large ladies also wear the gorgeous, sexy underwear that women with small breasts have enjoyed for years?

Now we can!  There is a growing range of bras for big women that are designed not only to provide adequate support but also enhance cleavage and sensuality.  You’ll even be proud to show them off without clothes (in the right company of course!).

Plunge bras, corsets, shelf bras, strapless and tube bras are all now available if you know where to look.  Bras for big women have finally caught up and can be worn with pride.

This change comes on the back of a growing acceptance that big really is beautiful and we all deserve to be give the chance to make the most of our appearance, no matter what our size.

Models 1 Expands For Plus-size Models

by Rosie Thompson on June 6, 2011

Times are finally changing as the world of high fashion start to wake up to the size of real women.

More fashion houses are turning to curvy models to showcase their clothes such as London Fashion Week designer Mark Fast who chose Hayley Morley to model his figure-hugging knitwear in 2009 and Crystal Renn, whose weight famously fluctuates, in 2010.Many brands now do a plus-size range but dont shout about it and next up is Marc Jacobs, whose collection is still in concept stages but will undoubtedly prove a big-hit once launched.A spokesperson for Models1 said: After much research and feedback, we have found there to be a real gap in the market for plus-sized models working in a high fashion environment. We feel passionate about this new venture and are positive that we can help develop the fashion industrys feelings on this topic.

Plus-Size Fashion Rules

by Rosie Thompson on May 22, 2011

I couldn’t agreed more that we should all try breaking the rules occasionally and just wear whatever  suits us or our mood.

Lets face the most obvious problem with the majority of fashion rules for plus-size women: By and large, most of the rules relating to plus-size women are designed to encourage whatever insecurities they may have and shame them into hiding their body, rather than empowering ladies to actually just wear whatever they want to wear! Needless to say, Im not really a fan of the former school of thought. Sure, not many women want to look bigger though I guess size-two style bloggers in harem pants missed that memo, but fashion-forward mentalities are rarely about flattering ones body, but rather about making a stylistic statement. So, why cant that be a part of dressing plus-size bodies, too? I say they can be.

The future looks promising as the fashion industry training ground accepts that women with curves are here to stay.

The Edinburgh Evening News has just announced that Edinburgh College of Art has become the first fashion school in the UK to introduce size 18 plus size mannequins to train the designers of the future. So, there is hope yet that plus size fashion will become part of the mainstream providing the latest styles and fashions. The move to using plus size mannequins at Edinburgh College of Art has been backed by the All Walks Centre for Diversity project. The step towards using plus size mannequins is in recognition of the fact that women are becoming curvier and more relaxed with fuller figures. ‘ECA students have already designed regular and plus-sized dresses for a variety of live models to be unveiled at the official campaign launch in London this week and the college will soon receive its new mannequins.’ Caryn Franklin, the founder of All Walks hope the move will encourage new designers to become more versatile in creating clothes for all sizes. ‘Co-founder Debra Bourne told the Evening News: “With many young designers, people cannot fit their arm into the armhole. This is not just anti-size zero.”
